Message templates can be of various formats including email or SMS communications. These templates can then be used for automated actions such as membership or event reminders, initial registrations, resetting passwords and so forth.

Placeholders can be used within templates for user personalisation such as populating names, emails and other relevant profile data or depending on how the template is triggered it can be used to insert dates, payment status of registrations, links and other useful information. Refer to Message Placeholders for more details on placeholders that be used and when. Some examples of placeholders include:

[[name]]

[[company]]

[[email]]

[[username]]

Types of message templates can be email (simple), email (advanced) or SMS. Choosing email (advanced) will present a drag and drop editor for building response email templates with more advanced styling options, layouts and images. Advanced emails will also present an option to enter plain text which can be used for summaries or alternatives in various email clients and can help fight against spam.

To create advanced formatted emails:

  1. Select email (advanced) under message type.
  2. In the email builder, drag across your desired layouts (one, two, three or four columns) into the content area.
  3. Drag across your desired content (heading, text, image or button) into the existing column layouts.

  4. Click and format as necessary, or modify row or column once selected from the side panels to change fonts, colours, margins and padding.
  5. To edit overall background, text colour, font and email width select the general tab from the side panel (once deselecting any content or layouts)
